Jesus is ALIVE!!!
What a wonderful truth! Around 2,033 years ago, the Saviour of the world died a brutal death, taking the sin of the world upon Himself and the full weight of its guilt and shame – so that we live free!
After Jesus died, He conquered death, hell and the grave for us. On the 3rd day, the resurrection power of God united His Spirit with His body and raised Him up, victorious! The Bible, in the book of Ephesians, tells us the same power that raised Jesus up from the dead – raised us up in Him too! That power seated Jesus at the right hand of the Father, and seated us right there with Him! With that position comes authority over all the works and power of the devil!
That means you and I are expected to live victoriously over the devil and every scheme he plots against us. We are well able to overcome any attack, every time! Even under immense persecution, believers can fully engage in the new-life we have in Jesus, and combat the devil with the authority we have been given. Revelation 12:11 says, “And they overcame him (the devil) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.”
The Bible teaches that the time for the devil to roam this earth and dominate the second heaven with his reign of terror is coming to an end. When Jesus comes again, just as the Bible proclaims, the devil and his evil cohorts will be imprisoned for a time. After that, they will be judged and sentenced to the lake of fire for eternity.
Until then, no matter how vicious his attack, or how devastating and wicked his onslaught against the people of the earth, every believer who is living in revelation knowledge of our identity in Christ Jesus, has nothing to fear. In fact, we don’t have to even be on the offensive concerning him when we understand our authority and power to enforce his defeat on this earth.
The Bible says we are well able to overcome him by 3 powerful weapons:
(1) The shed blood of the lamb, which has never lost its power – and never ever will!
(2) The word of our testimony, which is our mouths being full of the Word of God and the mighty things He has done in, through, and for us.
(3) Our being more aware of our eternal significance than our earthly comfort. We are to live every day knowing we are here to do the will of our Heavenly Father. Advancing His kingdom, by His might and in His love is what we were born-again to do!
1 John 4:5 says, “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.” What are we to have faith in? Romans 3:25 says we are made right with God when we believe in the blood of Jesus, and what it has accomplished for us! In other words – we are to have faith in the power of the blood of Jesus Christ! In Hebrews 11:28, it’s recorded that Moses had faith in the blood of the sacrificed lamb that was applied to the doorposts of the Israelite’s homes. He fully believed it had the power to keep destruction away from God’s people. Today, we know that blood applied was symbolic of the shed blood of Jesus applied to our lives. Just as Moses had faith in the blood to save them from destruction, we are to have faith in the blood of Jesus to do the same for us. We apply that blood by believing what the Word says about its power, and our authority over the devil – who is a defeated foe.
In closing, Jenny and I want to encourage you to continuously build your faith in these 3 things: The blood of the Lamb; your testimony of faith in God’s Word; and your eternal purpose to destroy the devil’s works and establish God’s kingdom. Praise God for the overcoming, wonder-working power of His Word; His blood; and His purpose in us!
